Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1. The agreement
These Terms are a contract between Grease ("we", "us") and the workshop entity that signs up for an account ("you", "Workshop"). By creating a Workshop you agree to be bound by these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
2. The service
Grease provides a multi-tenant SaaS platform for managing automotive workshop operations: job tracking, customer records, vehicle history, inventory, invoicing, and reporting. Specific features available to your Workshop depend on your plan; the resolved set is exposed at /workshops/me in our API and reflected in the portal UI.
3. Plans, billing, and trials
- New workshops start on a 14-day free trial with all features unlocked. After 14 days you must select a paid plan or your account will pause.
- Subscription plans (Starter, Pro, Enterprise) are billed in advance via Paystack (NGN) or Stripe (USD). Pricing is published at
grease.ng/pricingand may change with 30 days notice. - Hosting-mode licences are paid once for a lifetime software licence covering the feature set explicitly captured at purchase, plus a separate recurring hosting fee that covers our running costs. Future product features are not automatically included.
- If a payment fails, your Workshop enters a "past due" state. Seven days after the failure your account is automatically suspended until the balance is settled. Payments do not roll over; the next billing period restarts from the date of payment.
- Refunds are not generally offered for partial periods. We will issue a refund in the case of our material breach of these Terms.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Grease to send spam, phishing, or unsolicited bulk messages — including via the WhatsApp integration.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the platform, except to the extent allowed by applicable law.
- Resell or sub-license access to third parties without our written permission.
- Upload material that violates intellectual-property rights, contains malware, or breaks Nigerian or applicable foreign law.
We may suspend access without notice if we reasonably believe these rules have been broken or that the service is being used to harm others.
5. Your data
You retain ownership of all customer records, job data, photos, and other content uploaded to your Workshop. We act as a data processor; you are the controller. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to upload customer information to Grease, and for fulfilling data-subject requests (access, correction, deletion) under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) or other applicable privacy laws. We will support reasonable requests at no charge.
6. Service availability
We aim for 99.5% monthly uptime measured at the API endpoint, excluding scheduled maintenance announced at least 24 hours in advance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not liable for downtime caused by third-party providers (MongoDB Atlas, Cloudflare, Paystack, Stripe, Meta WhatsApp, mobile carriers).
7. Termination
- You may close your Workshop at any time from the billing page. We will keep your data for 30 days after closure to handle accidental cancellations, then delete it.
- We may terminate or suspend a Workshop immediately for non-payment, breach of section 4, or if we are legally required to.
- On termination by either party we will provide a one-time export of your data in JSON or CSV at your request, free of charge, within 30 days.
8. Hosting-mode licence takeaway
Workshops on a hosting-mode licence may, on termination, request a delivery of their account's software environment (source code scoped to the features they purchased, plus their MongoDB and uploaded media). We aim to deliver this within 30 days. The takeaway is governed by a separate handover agreement signed at the time of the original licence purchase.
9. Disclaimer + liability
Grease is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising under or relating to these Terms is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes are notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute is to be resolved in the courts of Lagos State.
